Lux Xzymhr (pronounced shimmer) grew up in Hawaii and spent her formative years eating flowers and scribbling on anything she could get her hands on. From a young age, Lux observed all of nature’s faces and recorded her findings in sketchbooks. At the age of 17 Lux moved to California. Her work is inspired by dreams, deep sea creatures, nebulas, and boobs. Her favorite artists are Louis Wain and Henry Darger. Lux now works out of a studio in Los Angeles.

Our boy Lister has a one night show at This Gallery in Highland Park. He is showing work that was shown during Art Basel in December. Go check it out if you can, it will be well worth it. His stuff kills for sure.

Guitar Center host the biggest drum competition in the world every year and every year I go. The drummers are always amazing and special guest rule. This year Dave Lombardo came out with Kerry King and played some Slayer shit. Too bad I can’t remember any of it thanks to the free heineken that was being served up. I did manage to document the night through pictures. Have a look. On our way to Tommys a motorcycle cop drove onto the sidewalk and stopped us, all he could say to us was “boy you guys are hammered” and let us continue on our way.

A couple friends of ours decided to spend the rest of their life together and we couldn’t be happier for them. Here are a few pictures from the engagement party. Good people. Good times.

Guerrero Gallery is pleased to announce “Nothing To Say”, a group exhibition featuring works by over thirty artists. The title of the show is a concept/word-play on the idea that an artist’s piece should be able to stand alone and speak for itself.
