We have been installing huge paintings in the Cardboard Robot warehouse down in Long Beach and are a couple sessions away from being done. Everything is hung, the parts of the paintings that don’t fit we are painting straight onto the wall. It’s been fun doing it because our paintings are restricted to the canvas size but in the warehouse the walls are so big that we are able flow with it and add parts to the paintings that we couldn’t before. It’s looking good.
We painted at the Filter X Toyota Antics X TOMS shoes sunset junction after party over the weekend and it was super hectal fractal to say the least. We thought it might be a good idea to get everyone at the party involved in the painting but we were totally wrong. It started out alright but then the alcohol started to flow and everything turned to shit. We were guiding people through the process and telling them where they could and couldn’t paint. Instead of following our lead their was a certain group of people that argued with us and did exactly as they pleased. They must of the thought it was their painting and not ours. It was unbelievable. Some of the things they were saying were so ridiculous that we couldn’t even figure out what it was they were trying to say. The night ended up being one big test of patience. We tried to fix the painting as much as we could but that was close to impossible. The lack of respect we received was incredible. Mind blowing. Most people suck and thats just how it is. Lesson learned on this one. Although it was a good idea to try and get other people involved we probably won’t be doing that again. One plus side to the night was the live screen printing that was going on. We threw a design into the mix that people could choose from and a lot of people chose it. Other than the painting getting a little out of hand the party ruled. Thanks to Filter for letting us come down, paint and hype the brand. Much appreciated. DETHKILLS!
The one good thing about sitting in traffic is you are going slow enough to take pictures.
We will be painting live at the Antics X Filter sunset junction after party. RSVP and come help us paint. We will be getting everyone involved on this one. It should be fun.
